" I was very skeptical at first and came to Larry as a last resort while also getting a prescription for Xanax filled. Larry and Sondra have established a very comfortable office and method of working with clients. If you are new to hypnosis, they are perfectly fine with answering all the questions you have. It always amazes me what comes up in hypnosis and how fast my thinking shifts when I utilize it. The common theme for me seems to be that it is always energizing and I can go forward and achieve my goals no matter what they are - in my case this time to calmly maintain creative focus and output in the form of novels while reentering the corporate workplace. After my last session, you asked me write up the metaphor I used when trying to explain the difference between my experience with traditional therapy versus hypnosis to a friend. I'll just type out what I said verbatim.

I said that my mind is like the ocean and my goal is to get to the bottom and retrieve things so I can work through issues. Before with my therapist I was trying to swim to the bottom of the ocean with just a snorkel which was impossible. However, because of the access to the subconscious thoughts that trance permits it was like I had all of the fancy equipment they used to retrieve things from the Titanic or something and I could then find what I was looking for and bring it back to the surface so I could process it.

Have you ever hit a point in your life to where you feel lost, empty like there are pieces of you missing and that you are not yourself? 

In 1995 my dad had gotten sick, we didn't know what it was and the doctors kept telling him that he was suffering from calcium deficiencies, my mom and I would go out and get him anything we could that had calcium in it. For years my dad tried his best and at the age of 48 he passed away due to his body was over producing calcium. My heart was broken, he was one of the most treasured people in my life and he was gone. For years I felt empty, lost, there were pieces of me that were missing and I didn't know how to get them back, there's been years of my life that I don't remember. I was doing my best to still live life, move on as you can't turn back time.

Galaxy Hypnosis, has opened my eyes and has shined a light into the darkness of my life. I have worked with both Larry and Sondra Lambert who are both amazing Individuals. Hypnosis has done so many incredible things for me, it has opened up my eyes and has me living life again, I feel as I whole again and at peace, I have my ambition and drive back to start living my dream as I continue to strive to have my dad be proud of me.

I contacted Larry at Galaxy Hypnosis to help with weight loss.  I wanted to undergo hypnosis so I would not desire certain foods that cause weight gain. Through my sessions, I now realize I had issues from my past and people I needed to forgive in order to move forward and focus on my present and future happiness. Larry assisted me by suggesting my struggle wasn’t dieting and helped me remove roadblocks. Many of the goals set for me by others years ago are no longer important and new paths are being explored. I am now able without stress and fear to be open to new experiences that will bring me inner peace. I also react calmly to things that would have caused me anger in the past. I began the Virtual Gastric Band hypnosis program with an open mind. When you think of hypnosis you think of some person on a stage at the circus walking around and acting like a chicken. It’s not like that at all. It’s very peaceful, very relaxing, and relieves stress.

​

At the start of the program I was 100 pounds overweight, a diabetic on insulin and a few other medications, I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. After six weeks of the program I’ve lost 25 pounds and have backed off on the amount of insulin I use daily.

​

The program was very easy to follow. Four sessions spread out over several weeks, accompanied by daily recording that I listened to on my iPod at work, at home, in a parked car, any free time that I had. The biggest benefit for me was being rid of cravings. I no longer want to run to the fridge during commercial, or run to the vending machine for candy. I felt satisfied on my three small meals a day.

​

The other great benefit was the stress relief. I feel stress may have been a contributing factor to my overeating. After each hypnosis session I felt very relaxed and very energized and very positive about the progress I was making.

My goal is to lose 85 of those 100 pounds, which would put me at my ideal body weight. That goal is set for the end of next summer. I’m also training to do a half-marathon in my new body next fall.
